Port Douglas cruises popular with Europeans
Two family owned reef tour operators, Poseidon and Sailaway, are actively increasing their share of the European market, and are participating in the 2011 Tourism Tropical North Queensland Adventurous By Nature Road Show, which will visit ten European cities in June and July.
The businesses, which are based in Port Douglas, have been operating reef and island excursions for more than thirty years. The owners are diving, snorkelling and sailing professionals and and are extremely experienced eco tourism operators and environmental leaders.
Their mission is to show visitors to the region the best possible experience of the Great Barrier Reef through extensive knowledge of the top locations, reef interpretation and personal customer service from experienced crew who are eager to share their passion for local marine life.
Poseidon offers a five-star cruise to the Agincourt Ribbon Reefs, and caters to snorkellers, certified divers and introductory divers, with three dives each day. The award-winning operators also offer visitors the unforgettable opportunity to swim with Minke whales at certain times of the year.
Sailaway offers a top class reef and island experience to the spectacular Low Isles: relax on powdery white sandy beaches, snorkel over magnificent coral gardens from the beach and swim with turtles. While on the TTNQ Road Show, Sailway will be introducing its new Sunset Sailing programme, which was introduced to satisfy demands of European visitors to Port Douglas
Also on the TTNQ Road Show, Ocean Spirit will be highlighting its sailing catamaran to Michaelmas Cay, a picturesque reef sand island surrounded by coral gardens.
